Who we are

Information the app may collect or process

Depending on how you use CheckSpending, this may include:

• Financial account data when you choose to link an institution: for example, account and transaction details made available through our connection provider (see Plaid below).
• App preferences and content you create, such as display settings, categories, or similar choices stored on your device or our systems as needed to provide the service.
• Device-related data needed to run the app, such as mobile OS version or device model, when used for compatibility, security, or support.
• Limited technical data such as app version or diagnostics, if we use them to improve stability and security.

Plaid

Bank linking is provided through Plaid Inc. When you connect an account, you are also subject to Plaid's terms and policies. We use Plaid to obtain the financial data needed to show transactions and spending summaries inside CheckSpending. We do not control Plaid's processing; please review their disclosures.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve CheckSpending.
• Show linked transactions, totals, and trends you request.
• Protect the service and comply with applicable law.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers who help us run the app (for example, Plaid for account linking, or infrastructure vendors). We do not sell your personal information as a product.

Retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. You may be able to delete certain data from inside the app or by disconnecting linked accounts.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. In the free app, your data is stored on your device. CheckSpending does not provide payment processing in the app.

Children

CheckSpending is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us at zick2.dev@gmail.com.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date.
